Requirements
Riffmo is designed for iPhone and iPad and requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. No account is required.
Recording
Open Recordings and tap the red button to start a take. If recording does not work, enable microphone access for Riffmo in Settings, then try again.
Pause and resume keep a single take. Finish & save stores the recording in your library. You can add a title, key, tempo, instrument, tuning, tags, and notes from the recording’s details. Open larger player shows a taller waveform with playback controls and ten-second skip buttons.
Importing audio
Riffmo can import M4A, MP3, WAV, and AIFF files. Use Recordings → Recording options (…) → Import from Files, or share a supported file to Riffmo from another app.
When you share from another app, open Riffmo to complete the import. Imported audio is copied into your local library.
Transcription
Open a recording’s (…) menu and choose Transcribe recording. Riffmo uses Apple’s on-device speech tools on supported devices and languages. A language model may need to download first, and some devices request speech recognition permission in Settings.
Clear spoken audio works best. Instrumental-only recordings may return no speech. If transcription fails or is canceled, your recording remains in the library.
Lyrics, setlists, and gear
Lyrics documents autosave as you write. Link one or more recordings to a document. Deleting a lyric document keeps the linked recordings.
On Setlists, tap Add song, drag handles to reorder, and optionally add durations and notes. Perform shows large text with previous and next controls while you rehearse or play.
Gear checklists let you add items, check them off as you pack, and reset the list for your next gig.
Your library
Each device has its own Riffmo library. Riffmo does not provide cloud sync, and we cannot recover deleted recordings or other content for you.
Export important recordings, lyrics, and setlists before deleting the app. Depending on your device settings, your library may be included in iCloud or computer backups that you manage separately.
For how Riffmo handles information, see the Privacy Policy. In the app, Recordings → Recording options (…) → Privacy & storage summarizes local storage and permissions.
